Lawrence Prospera's Administrative Team
Since 2015, Susan has continued the strong financial oversight of Lawrence Family Development, Inc (LFD) and Lawrence Family Development Charter School (LFDCS) set by their founders, the late Patricia Karl, Roy Nelson and his staff. Susan was the Controller at the Community Foundation when she first met Patricia in 2011. The two years prior, she had audited LFD and LFDCS financials while at Walsh and Company. She received her public accounting training at one of the big four, after graduating from Merrimack College. Susan is a lifelong resident of the north shore.
Zulma has served as the Manager of Lawrence Prospera’s Quintana Center since 2017. She is a Department of Justice accredited representative, as well as a Notary Public. Zulma is a lifelong Lawrencian, with a comprehensive understanding of the needs of the city of Lawrence and the surrounding communities. She has worked for Lawrence Prospera, Inc. for the last nine years in various capacities. She is a committed professional constantly advocating for the needs of under privileged and underserved adults and youngsters. She understands local, State and Federal governmental services and as a result is able to both guide and advocate for people through the myriad of requirements in the public sector. Zulma possess a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Hesser College, professional training in Leadership & Nonprofit Management from Boston University. She is also a professional transcriber and translator/interpreter
Justin was brought on as Director of Nutritional Services for Lawrence Prospera in 2016. He was born and raised in the Merrimack Valley and has worked in Lawrence for over 15 years providing nutritious meals to youth and families in the city. He oversees and coordinates all aspects of food and nutrition for the program. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and camping in the White Mountains or spending time out in the yard with his kids and family.
Kathy joined LFD in March of 2016 as the Accounts Payable/Procurement Officer. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 30 years. Her experience includes the Open Software Foundation, and Essex County Community Foundation, distribution of grants, where she worked with Patricia Karl on the Greater Lawrence Summer fund. Kathy is the co-founder of the Youth at Risk (YAR) Conference that started in 2000, and still going strong. Kathy has been a Notary Public since 1986. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH
Masa joined Lawrence Prospera in January 2021. He has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit accounting. As General Ledger Accountant, he focuses on month-end-closing, budgeting, expense analysis, and tasks assisting the Director of Finance. Masa was born and raised in Tokyo and is fluent in Japanese and English. He received BA from Soka University (Japan) and MBA from American University (Washington DC)
